When you think of an art club, you imagine a quiet, sunlit room filled with half-finished canvases, the scent of spray paint lingering in the air, and scattered tubes of paint, brushes, and eraser shavings dotting SAC. But at KMIT, the Art Club is a fever dream crafted from paints, corrugated sheets, Tiger Glue, and non stop laughter.

KMIT’s Art Club is more than a group of students with paint-smeared hands: it’s a community, the beating heart of every campus event. We’re not the background; we’re the visual soul. From the very first sketch to the final brushstroke, we’re there, planning, painting, building, and breathing life into every celebration. Whether it’s Graduation Day, KMIT Evening, or the vibrant chaos of Navraas, you’ll find us right at the center.

What sets our club apart isn’t just the end result, it’s the journey. It’s the two-hour-long yap sessions, the stubborn paint stains, the super glue stuck to our fingers, and the laughter echoing through our creative chaos. It’s the unhinged laughing over broken cutters, spilled Fevicol, and the friendships formed while spray-painting massive backdrops. The mess? That’s our magic. Our room may look like something exploded in it, but every splash of paint, every scrap of cardboard, and every speck of glitter is a piece of a larger vision coming to life.

We take pride in being the first on the scene. The moment an event is announced, we’re already buzzing with ideas, debating color palettes, sketching props, and engineering the impossible. Our photo booths aren’t just backdrops; they’re memory makers. Our props and installations? They're conversation starters, mood-setters, and sometimes, even icebreakers.

In our world, paint stains are badges of honor, and every mess tells a story.

Beyond visual artistry, we thrive on collaboration. Everyone’s voice matters, whether you’re a Member or the Club Head. We learn from each other, challenge each other, and grow together not just as artists, but as individuals. At its core, KMIT’s Art Club is about more than just art. It’s about passion, presence, and people. It’s about turning raw materials into masterpieces and turning strangers into family. We believe that creativity thrives in chaos, and our journey is proof of that.

We don’t just create art, we create memories, messes, and masterpieces (in that order).

So if you ever stumble upon a paint-splattered hallway filled with laughter, loud music, and the faint scent of glue, it’s probably us. This year, Aakarshan is ready to push boundaries with an exciting lineup of workshops, the return of fan-favorite stalls, thrilling competitions, and our flagship event, Galleria.

I’ll end with a quote from Gaman, our ex-Junior Club Head:

We climb the trees,
 We cut the sheets,
 We paint the breeze,
 We sketch with ease,
We are Aakarshan, where creativity meets.
